“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born, I consecrated you; I appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” (Jer. 1:5 NLT) We all have purpose to our lives. We weren’t placed here by accident. The creator created us with a purpose and has a plan for our lives. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jer.29:11 NIV) you have a purpose to your life and God has a plan for your life, a good plan that will have prosperity, that you would live in safety from all harm, and that you would have hope for your future. God is a loving God that wants to lavish his blessings on you. Just like a good father that wants good things for his children so does our heavenly father want good things for us and until we can know God as our good father, we really won’t understand his goodness toward us. We’ll think in our pride that we are the ones making all the good things happen in our lives by all the hard work we do when in fact if it wasn’t for the mercy of God in our lives, we wouldn’t have the good things that we have in our lives. You have a sound mind intelligent and able to learn so you can obtain an education, have a good job and be able to hold that job. You have finances because God opened that door of opportunity for you to work. God has blessed you with good health so you can physically do the job that brings you the money to pay your bills, buy food, and buy the things you need to support you and your family. Without these blessings from God, you wouldn’t be where you are today. So, with a grateful heart we must look to our Creator, Heavenly father and thank him for all that he has blessed us with because he is worthy of our praise, and he has blessed us because he loves us. Our humility and gratitude are the building blocks to see the goodness of God in our lives and the more humble and grateful we are the more opportunities God will grant to us.
